Terms and Conditions

By placing an order and leaving a deposit, you agree to the following terms and conditions:
 

Deposit & Booking

Upon receiving your order intake form, you will receive a quote that is valid for seven days. To confirm your booking, a 50% NON-REFUNDABLE deposit is required. Your order is not considered confirmed until the deposit is received. If an order is canceled 14 days or more before the scheduled pickup or delivery date, the deposit will be converted into a credit valid for one year from the original order date. Orders placed less than 14 days before the event require full payment at the time of booking.
 

Final Payment & Late Fees

The remaining balance is due 14 days prior to delivery or pickup. Late payments are subject to a 15% late fee. Your cake will not be released until the full balance is paid. If full payment is not received seven days prior to the event, your order will be canceled with no refunds given.
 

Payment Options

We accept cash, Venmo (@bakedbyla), Zelle (Lauren@BakedByLA.com, 908-420-1470), and credit or debit card payments. Credit and debit card payments are subject to a 3% processing fee. Orders paid via cash, Venmo, or Zelle are eligible for a cash discount price, which will be reflected in your invoice. If the customer adds purchase protection on a Venmo transaction, any associated fees will be added to their final invoice.
 

Order Changes & Cancellations

Changes to cake size, flavor, or design cannot be made after final payment unless otherwise agreed upon. Any approved changes may be subject to additional charges. In case of an emergency requiring cancellation, please contact Lauren@BakedByLA.com. Deposits are non-refundable but may be converted into a credit for future purchases at Baked by LA’s discretion.
 

Pickup & Delivery

Pickup is available at 900 Mill Road, Pleasantville, NJ. Delivery is available for a fee of $30 for locations within 30 miles. For locations beyond 30 miles, an additional fee of $30 plus $1 per mile round trip and any applicable tolls will be charged. Baked by LA is not responsible for any damage to the cake after delivery is complete or after the order leaves our possession for pickup. It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure the cake is stored in a secure, climate-controlled environment at 75°F or below. Cakes are heavy and require a sturdy, level table. Direct sunlight and temperatures exceeding 75°F can cause structural and design damage. Any repairs or replacement cakes will incur additional charges.
 

Design Ownership & Copyright

Baked by LA retains all rights to its custom cake designs and may use images of completed cakes for marketing, promotions, and social media. We do not replicate exact copyrighted designs (such as character cakes or brand logos) unless the client has obtained the necessary permissions from the copyright owner. Any unauthorized requests will be declined or adapted into a unique interpretation.
 

Fresh Flowers Disclaimer

If fresh flowers are used for decoration, they will be stem-wrapped in floral tape or coated with a food-safe barrier. Baked by LA is not liable for the safety of fresh flowers used on cakes. It is the responsibility of the customer and florist to ensure the flowers are safe for use on food items.
 

Non-Edible Decorations Disclaimer

Some cakes may include non-edible decorations, such as toppers, figurines, ribbons, or structural supports. These items should be removed before serving, and Baked by LA is not responsible for any injury or damage resulting from their use.
 

Customer Responsibility

Customers are responsible for reviewing all order details (flavor, design, spelling, event date, etc.) prior to finalizing their order. Baked by LA is not liable for errors resulting from incorrect information provided by the customer.
 

Weather & Environmental Factors

Customers must take precautions when handling and storing cakes. Heat, humidity, and improper transportation can affect the cake’s stability. Baked by LA is not responsible for damages resulting from improper storage or exposure to extreme temperatures.
 

Equipment Deposits

Any deposit paid for rental equipment, such as cake stands or trays, will be fully refunded upon return of the item in its original condition within seven days of pickup or delivery. If the equipment is damaged, lost, or not returned on time, the deposit will be forfeited.
 

Product Guarantee & Liability

Baked by LA strives to provide the highest quality products and services. Once the cake has been delivered or picked up, Baked by LA is no longer responsible for any damage. In the event of a vehicular accident during delivery by Baked by LA that results in cake damage, a sheet cake will be provided as a replacement, and a full refund will be issued.
 

Allergy Disclaimer

Baked by LA products may contain or come into contact with common allergens, including but not limited to milk, wheat, nuts, soy, and eggs. It is the customer’s responsibility to inform guests of potential allergens. Baked by LA is not responsible for allergic reactions resulting from the consumption of our products.
